Cookie explanation
Celest uses a small amount of browser storage for requested preferences and optional Google Analytics cookies only after consent. The website works if you choose only necessary storage.

Cookies and browser storage
A cookie is a small text file saved by a website in your browser. Local storage is a similar browser feature used to remember settings on a device. Celest uses both terms clearly below because not every saved preference is technically a cookie.
Necessary local preferences
These values support requested site behavior and are not used by Celest to build an advertising profile.
- celestsky-analytics-consent: remembers whether you allowed or refused analytics.
- astro-calendar-location: remembers the observing place you selected.
- astro-calendar-language: remembers English or Romanian on local and preview addresses.
- astro-calendar-information-mode: remembers the chosen explanation level while that feature remains available.
- astro-calendar-welcome-dismissed: remembers that you closed the welcome guide.
Optional analytics cookies
If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may set first-party cookies such as _ga and _ga_<container-id> to distinguish pseudonymous users and preserve session information. Celest keeps advertising-related consent denied. If you choose Only necessary, Celest does not load the Google Analytics library.
Change your choice
Use the Cookie settings button below or in any page footer. You can allow analytics, refuse it, or withdraw a previous choice. You can also delete cookies and local storage in your browser; Celest will ask again when needed.
External services
Maps, forecasts and live astronomy data can involve requests to external providers. Those requests may use ordinary technical storage or network logs controlled by the provider. See the Privacy policy for the current provider categories.
