What Celest provides

Celest provides astronomy calculations, event information, weather and darkness context, maps, educational explanations and observing suggestions. The service may change as features and data sources improve.

Accuracy and availability

Astronomical calculations, forecasts, visibility estimates, satellite passes, comet brightness and light-pollution layers may be incomplete, delayed or inaccurate. Local terrain, buildings, weather, data-provider outages and device settings can change what you actually see. Confirm important observations with an authoritative source and current local conditions.

Celest may be changed, interrupted or withdrawn without a guarantee of continuous availability. Links and external data are controlled by their respective providers.

Safety

Never look directly at the Sun or an eclipse without certified solar-viewing protection appropriate for direct solar observation. Ordinary sunglasses, cameras, telescopes or binoculars without a correctly fitted solar filter are not safe. Choose legal observing locations, respect private property, check local hazards and do not use Celest while driving.

Acceptable use

• Do not interfere with the site, bypass safeguards, overload services or attempt unauthorized access.
• Do not use Celest or its branding to mislead others or imply an endorsement that does not exist.
• Respect third-party licenses, attributions and usage conditions for maps, data and linked material.

Intellectual property

Celest branding, original interface, writing and original code are protected by applicable intellectual-property rules. Astronomy facts and third-party data remain subject to their own source terms. Personal, ordinary use of the public website is allowed; republication or commercial reuse of substantial Celest content requires permission where rights apply.

Liability and applicable rights

To the extent permitted by law, Celest is provided as available without warranties and is not responsible for decisions based solely on estimates or third-party data. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded, including mandatory consumer rights where applicable.

Changes

These terms may be updated as Celest adds accounts, paid services, community features or mobile apps. Continued use after a published update means the revised terms apply from their stated date.
